Nancy's Voice
I started this journey back in 1999, mostly out of
curiosity, when I attended the National Guild of Hypnotists
annual convention. What I learned was unbelievable and
sounded much too simple. How could it be that the mind is
this easily directed to heal itself, and yet people remain
stuck and sick?
I thought about a friend of mine and her myriad of problems
(fibromyalgia, esophogeo-reflux, connective tissue disease, a
multiply disabled child and a murdered son). Could this
really be helpful for her? Could I help her sleep better?
Take less medication?? The answer, a resounding yes, seemed
too simple - but I'm a fan of simplicity. I attended the Omni
School of Hypnosis in Deland, Florida and found a passion.
With the excellent training, encouragement and guidance from
Jerry Kein and Bob Brenner, I have begun one of the most
fantastic journeys I have ever taken.
Without question, I love what I do. Through hypnosis, I have
ability to help people realize their potential, put fears and
anxiety behind them and feel good about who they are. This is
a priceless gift. If I didn't have to pay bills, I would do
this just for the hugs I get.
Hypnotherapy is challenging, exciting, heartbreaking and
fulfilling. It requires creativity, empathy, compassion and
thinking fast on my seat. For all our differences, we have so
much in common - our joys, our disappointments, our grief,
the search for the fulfillment of our deepest needs. In that
search, we are often misguided, misdirected and side-tracked.
We become angry, embittered, resentful and afraid.
Frustration sets in as we realize how far we are from where
we intended to go and we don't know how to return. Left
unresolved, these negative emotions begin to exhibit
themselves in a physical or emotional manner and we become
ill. As I work with each client, guiding them into trance, I
am honored to be allowed to follow, to assist in the
unfolding search for truths, wisdom, self discovery and
healing.
You can find the path to happiness again. That does not mean
you will be happy every minute. Life is filled with
challenges (it's supposed to be). Only in meeting our
challenges we are able to grow. "We can not direct the wind
but we can adjust our sails" to take advantage of it. When we
choose to embrace the lessons, appreciate who we are and take
pride in our growth, we create the ability to rise when we
fall. It is then we can face those falls with courage and
serenity.
Cherish all of your experiences - both good and bad. That is
what makes you who you are. Value all of the lessons life
gives you. Realize that at every moment in your life, you
have always done the best you could with what you had.
Sometimes that is a lot and sometimes it is a tiny bit.
20/20 Hind Sight isn't all it's cracked up to be. Knowing
what you know now, you might have chosen a different way of
doing things as you look back over your life. But that means
only that things may have turned out differently -
not necessarily better. Learn the lessons, let go of hurt and
move on. Leave the past in the past where it belongs. Guilt
serves no purpose. As a friend of my says, "If the belief
doesn't serve you fire it! And if the belief serves you well,
promote it!"
